celebrating all eras of Doctor Who. Each issue will explore the fantastic
Doctor Who universe with star interviews, behind-the-scenes features,
character and monster guides, news and pictures from the world of
Doctor Who fandom, and an in-depth look at the latest Doctor Who
releases. Plus, every issue will include a double-sided fold-out poster.

David Walliams Cast for Series 6

Speaking to The Chris Evans Show on BBC Radio Two, David Walliams has confirmed he will Play a Role in Doctor Who.
The Little Britain and Come Fly With Me Actor Said he was offered and Role as an Alien in the Upcoming series:

David Walliams, Allthough you may not know, Has Appeared in Doctor Who before this annoucment. As Part of Doctor Who Night in 1999 he appeared in 3 Sketches along side Mark Gatiss and Peter Davison. He Was also on The Graham Norton Show Sofa with Matt Smith on Christmas Eve.
David has siad that he is filming in a Couple of weeks So could possibly Be for Episode 3 or an Episode in the Second Half of the Series iring in the Autumn.

Hugh Bonneville Cast in Series 6

Hugh Bonneville, The Downton Abbey Actor, Has been Officially cast as a 'Pirate Captain' in a forthcoming Series 6 Episode of Doctor Who.
Hugh has also been in Such Movies as the James Bond hit Tomorrow Never Dies and Vincent and The Doctor Writer Richard Curtis' Notting Hill.
It also Confirms that there will be Pirates in Series 6 which we have not particullary seen in the Series 6 Trailer.
Speaking to the Official BBC site Bonneville Said, 'When I was a boy THAT music and Jon Pertwee's Doctor had me peeking out from behind the sofa every Saturday night. All these years later I am thrilled to be appearing in the new series. Although the Pirate's fears and demons are different to those of the young lad who watched through his fingers, they are no less vivid and terrifying; this new adventure is not for the faint-hearted.'
Specualtion Has being going around that He is set to star in Episode 3 which is to be shooting soon.

The old Roman road bends to avoid it. Tonight Emily Bostock and a man called Rory Williams will go to the woods.

Investigating events in the present day and back in 1917, the Doctor and Amy are desperate to find out what’s happened to Rory. He was supposed to look after Emily – and now they’ve both vanished. Something is waiting in the woods. Something that’s been there for thousands of years. Something that is now waking up...

The London Toy Fair 2011 was in Olympia Today ( 25th January 2011) and always ahve lot's of Doctor Who Goodies on show!

One thing that was big from Character Options is the Character Building Doctor Who Range.
A Press Release came out earlier in the month aswell as some promo Pictures...

The Character Building range will include 3D micro-figures, brought to life with sculpted facial features whilst play sets will be uniquely tailored to Doctor Who. Fans will be able to build their own Doctor Who world with all their favourite characters including the Doctor and Amy Pond with their famous foes the Daleks, Cybermen and Weeping Angels.

Distinctive to the Character Building range will be the use of texture on some of the building blocks, whether it be the sleek and smooth edges of a spaceship, or the rough edges of a rock face. This will be pivotal in recreating each environment, providing a natural look, but still allowing easy construction play.

And of course the London Toy fair was today and More Pictures and Information has been released:

Torchwood: The New World Broadcast Information

The Official Torchwood Facebook Page, run by the BBC, has confirmed the Official Broadcast Information for Torchwood: The New World 10 part series.
They have Confirmed that Episode One of the Series will Broadcast on Friday 1st July 2011 at 9.00pm - 10.00pm Which also confirms the episodes to an Hour long.
If the episodes run every week, for ten weeks, it would mean the series would begin on 1st July 2011 and conclude on 2nd September 2011 allthough this could change.
it has also been confirmed that Torchwood: The New World would Broadcast in the UK on BBC One and in the US on STarz on the same day.
"Episode one is set to premiere on 1st July 2011 on both BBC One in the UK and Starz in the US.

Starring John Barrowman & Eve Myles who reprise there role as Captain Jack & Gwen Cooper with her devoted husband (Kai Owen), and baby Anwen..."

Doctor Who Series 6 Casting Update

Over the last few days there have been more Casting news going on for Doctor Who Series 6.

The First is for Episode three of the Series which is penned by Neil Gaiman and Directed by Richard Clark.

Adrian Schiller has been listed to be playing the part of 'Uncle' in this episode. He has Stared in other programmes such as Silk, Being Human and Going Postal.

And with that we have the Auntie Character who is to be played Elizabeth Berrington who you may know as 'Ruby' from BBC series Waterloo Road.

Filming Comenced today on episode 5 and 6 of the New series which is being written by Matthew Graham nd Directed by Julian Simpson. As previously speculated, Sarah Smart is to be playing a character called Jennifer Lucas. Sarah has played other roles including a part in Wallander, Casualty and FIve Days.

Leon Vickers is another Acotr to appear in Episode 5 and 6. he is to play a 'Clone Worker' which considers the recent speculation that The Doctor is to be cloned in these episodes.

And the last Casting news is that Mark Bonnar, from series such as Paradox and Casualty, is to play a character which is currently unknown.

And of course as we have previously posted about Jimmy Vee is to play another character next year.

Final Ratings for 'A Christmas Carol'

12.11million for 'A Christmas Carol'

Unofficial Sources have indicated that Doctor Who A Christmas Carol Achieved a Final Viewing rating on 12.11 million.

Doctor Who was the 3rd most watched programme of Christmas Day with a total audience share of 41.8%.

This means that A Christmas Carol is the 4th most highest viewed Doctor Who Episode since the new series began in 2005 as it just came behind Voyage of Damned, The Next Doctor and The End of Time Part Two.

Overnight Doctor Who Achieved 10.3 million views but with BBC Iplayer and Repeats it rose up less than 2 million.
Allthough these do seem true the Final figures and Ratings for Christmas Day will be released later in the Week by BARB.

Jimmy Vee to play Character in Series 6

Jimmy Vee who has appeared in Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures, is to have another par in the next series of Doctor Who
Jimmy has played such roles as The Moxx of Balhoon in The End of the World, The Pig Slave in Aliens of London, Bannakaffalatta in Voyage of the Damned and The Graske and Groske in The Sarah Jane Adventures.

In an Interview with the Evening Times, He told that he will be playing a 'top secret' Character in an episode of the next series which is to be filmed over the coming months.

He also spoak of his first time in Doctor Who when he played the Pig Slave in 'Aliens of London':”I was playing a gargoyle in the TV show Weird Sister. My prosthetics guy said to me he was doing stuff for Doctor Who, and said ‘there’s a part which will suit you. Are you going to be available November and December?’ I said ‘I usually do panto’, but I cancelled that year and just sat back and waited. In December I got a phone call to say I’d got the part, in series one with Christopher Eccleston. It was great.”

Happy Who Year!

We would all like to wish all of you visitors a very Happy New Year and a great 2011.

2011 will be a fantastic year for everyone in thw whoniverse as there is plenty going on for us to enjoy.

Firstly the next series of Doctor Who Begins in the Easter which will be spit in to two halves of the year.

The Next thing is Series 4 of Torchwood which is called Torchwood: The New World. This is likely to air in the summer and last for ten weeks.

We then have the second half of the Doctor Who Series after the summer which will run for 6 episodes.

Then finally we have the 5th series of The Sarah Jane Adventures which is to air in it's regulary spot of October/November.

And aswell as that if your a fan of primeval you can catch the first episode of the brnad new series tomorrow on ITV1.

So it's going to be an eventful year on and off the screen which promises to give us lot's to post and talk about so please stay tuned!

Hey there all, and welcome to my first blog entry by me, Ellis. So 9 days to go till the airing of A Christmas Carol and of course Christmas day. and being online at Christmas time can be a big thing for me. aepecially on Forums, Blogs and other websites. With rushing last minute problems and new banners and all the news happening, Doctor Who is one of the biggest news stories to report!
Anything is always better when it is christmas themed so thats why I love everything everyone does at this Festive time. From Life, Doctor Who and Combom to WhovianNet, many sites are celebrating This christmas Period with a type of Advent Calendar which in my case sums up Christmas. New Gifts and Special Treats get published everyday in December in all kinds away so that why Christmas in the whoniverse is so important.

And today another treat was out in shops, Doctor Who Magazine issue 429. This issue is a Christmas special and is packed full with new Features, a wonderful Comic, A fantastic Preview of 'A Christmas Carol' and Some Great, Shiny Art Cards free with it. you can buy it from all newsagents priced £4.99 and you can follow there official Twitter Account here

Another Great thing at Christmas is the gifts and presents. Christmas is the best time for great Merchandise to get released from Figures, Books, DVD's and Stationary. These are great if your a Doctor Who Fan to open on Christmas Day. if you like me than you will love the figure Collection and with new Figure sets being released at least 5 days before Christmas, there a great Buy for Kids and Collectors of any ages for the big day.
But probably the most important in the Whoniverse is the Episodes themselves. 'A Christmas Carol' stars Matt Smith in his first ever Christmas Special, which is written by Steven Moffat, as he makes his own version of the ghost of Christmas Past from the Famous book written by Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol.

Its the deepest part of winter, the exact midpoint, Christmas Eve - halfway out of the dark. Amy and Rory are trapped on a stricken space liner that's plummeting through banks of thick icy fog to the surface of the planet below.

Only one man has the power to save them; only one man is in possession of a machine that can clear the fog and let them land safely.

That man is Kazran Sardick, a rich but lonely old miser who rules Sardicktown with a sky-mast of iron.

The Doctor's only chance of rescuing the ship's four thousand passengers is to save Kazran's soul and show him that life is worth living. For this he needs to go back, way back, to when Kazran was a boy with a life full of promise.

it has aired at the exact same time for 2 years and looks like it will be nearly every year for Doctor Who.

A Christmas Carol Broadcast Time

Acording to The Sun the Doctor Who Christmas Special is set to broadcast at 7pm on Christmas Day. This years Christmas episode featuring Matt Smith as The Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond.

It is no yet known whether The Episode will be on at 7pm but could we be seeing a return of the Classic Time for Doctor who in series to come?

The Final Tme is set be revealed in a couple of weeks when the Christmas Radio Times is on sale.

Next weeks Radio Times for the 11-17th December also says: "Matt Smith reveals the secrets of Doctor Who's Christmas cracker" which will hopefully include a Doctor Who Festive Cover which we have seen in previous years.

News from DW 428

Doctor Who Magazine always brings lot's of news of all sorts each months and we have this Months Round Up!
Theres only One main story but we'll have more news tomorrow when DWM hits the shops!

Steven Moffat has revealed that Co-creator of Life on Mars, Matthew Graham will be writing a 2-parter for the first half of Series 6. Grahams episode is set to be number 5 and 6 of the series and Moffat has given readers a few clues about what may happen: "...thrilling and terrifying two-parter. The Doctor will face a dilemma the like of which he’s never seen before". Aswell as that graham says that the second episode he remembers being on Skaro with Leela and the production crew then try and remember who has and hasn’t met the Daleks and Davros.
So does this mean we will see the Daleks once again?
Steven Moffat has also revealed that he will be writting episode 7 and 8 of the split series which shows there will be a big cliffhanger between spring and autumn.

Christmas Special 'Not set on Earth'

Executive Producer Piers Wenger has revealed in a recent interview with Collider that the Upcoming Christmas special Will 'Not Be set on Earth'. Piers explains "It kind of riffs on the Dickens story. There’s no one called Scrooge in it and it’s not set on Earth, but there are familiar archetypes from that story within it that will please fans of Dickens’s original". This will be the first christmas Special to be set away from earth since the first 2005.
Piers also goes onto to talk about series 6 and he Utah Filming: "The team left the UK on Saturday and is traveling out to Utah, to Mojave, where they’re filming some scenes. There are scenes set in New York and San Francisco. It is Doctor Who’s love letter to the States. Last year started with the TARDIS crash-landing on Big Ben in London and that was an opportunity for British audiences to be reminded of Doctor Who’s British heritage. But this year, it’s all about America, it’s all about taking the show out to the States and seeing what Doctor Who will feel like set in America and in some very iconographic parts of the American landscape".

The first is a stardard DVD while the second format is Blu-ray DVD. But a new format has been revealed for 2|entertain DVD's which is a Digital Format.
This is following in the footsteps of Predators ad Iron Man 2 and is set to be on all of the Doctor Who DVD's. Buyers will be able to get a Digital Copy of the Episode (s) for a long space of time but not for ever as this type of Copy can be known as a 'Long Rental'. There's definitely a good chance of the story ending up better than the title would lead you to expect. There's actually a track record for this sort of thing.

After all, this isn't exactly the first new series episode to be burdened with an apparently crap title.

Rose, The End of the World, World War Three, The Parting of the Ways, The Christmas Invasion, School Reunion, The Runaway Bride, Smith and Jones, Voyage of the Damned, Partners in Crime, The Doctor's Daughter, Turn Left, The Next Doctor, The Eleventh Hour, The Lodger, The Big Bang.

I believe I've made my point. Heavy-handed, obvious, overly-literal, clunky, unimaginative-and-ripped-off-from-somewhere else-sounding titles are practically a new series tradition.

Would A Christmas Carol even be the worst offender? Likely not.

How about a fusion of new and old? I wouldn't say no to something like A Deadly Christmas Carol of Doom.

Just picked up my boxset from Tesco...£12.50 worth of vouchers brought the price down to around £36. Still much, much more than I'd pay for any other boxset. First impressions...wow, that's flimsy packaging. Gone, it seems, are the days of big chunk double boxes with three discs apiece and a nice little illustrated booklet. The boxset seems to reflect the slightly-cheaper look of the episodes inside, to be honest.

Got the lenticular blu-ray yesterday and skimmed through the special features yesterday.
It's an all around amazing set and I don't feel cheated by the price at all.
Quite a few little niggles annoyed me though:

The Confidential cutdowns barely lasted 15 minutes, has this happened in previous sets?

I was looking forward to an atmospheric 1080i 5.1 'Down The Rabbit Hole' trailer, instead I get a flat 2.0 480 copy

(Is it just me btw or in the 'Finale Trailers' section particularly, are 3 of the trialers not completely identical, give or take maybe 2 seconds of different footage?)

Obviously, I would have liked the next times to be in the special features but I won't go into that.

As mentioned previously, blu-ray features aren't really used too well with a DVD style menu and in-vision commentaries not letting you use a 'picture in picture' mode.

Little suggestion: The menu would have been amazing with the tardis playing whatever clips it usually does but when you go onto scene selection, you don't get a rough cut to the menu, it all sleeky links together and the audio carries on smoothly, without cutting abruptly and playing some atmospheric sound effect.

But otherwise, an incredible set. The picture quality is flawless and I couldn't be happier. (Apart from the fact my disc flap for Disc 4 snapped off soon as I opened the box but that's probably just me.)

The Daily Star are claiming that if Matt Smith does not star in a BBC film of the series he will lea as the Timelord. This however is totally false. Matt Smith Told the Daily Star: "I would be thrilled if there could be a movie version – I want them to do it.

“There is something brilliantly televisual about Doctor Who but I think it could definitely work as a film.”

This does not say a thing about Matt Smith Leaving but after his quote they say that BBC insiders are worried the cash-strapped corporation won’t be able to find the funds to make a movie – and could lose their man.

News has come out by the sun about a forthcoming series 6 episode by Mark Gatiss. a source has said: It is going to be terrifying. Mark has delved to the back of his dark mind to come up with this idea."

The Episode is currently Called 'What are little boys made of?' but that could change over time. allthough it was reported a few weeks back The Sun have also said about the creepy dolls that have are meant to appear in Mark Gatiss' Episode.

The Doctor Will be with a UNIT officier in the upcoming episode of the Sarah jane Adventures ' Death of the Doctor'. Colonel Karim will be played by Laila Rouass who formerly stared in stricly come Dancing. her character has been compared to the Brigadier played by Nicholas Courtney. you can see Death of the Doctor on thr 25th and 26th October 2010 on CBBC Channel.

We went to Doctor Who Live on Sunday Afternoon and we give you our report on the show! Warning Spoilers!

Daleks steal the show as Doctor Who Live Moves away from London

The Monsters have been and gone in London and what a treat it’s been! APB visited the spectacular show yesterday and opened up in a splendid musical fashion. With Murray Gold’s Music being played and Ben Foster composing you can defiantly see the Band was going to play a major role in this tour of the country. Nigel Planner made a comedy dance entrance with the Ood at his side and things were starting to settle in. Nigel Planner, who you may know from such shows as the Young Ones and the Comic strip Presents.., was playing the greatest showman in the world named Vorgenson. The Doctor’s Number 1 fan as he’s described by himself. With this, the story continues with Vorgenson Telling that he has invented a minimiser which can bring any creature, monster, Alien or Human from across the galaxy to the stage. And i have to say so myself the Stage looked magnificent. Anyway with this, Monsters flocked the stage. A Cyberman, Judoon, Silurian, Scarecrows and many more got on to the stage and into the minimiser. After a few clips and Music montages, Vorgenson Arrived with one of The Doctor’s Friends. Winston Churchill. He fell into Vorgenson’s trap and rang the doctor with a borrowed mobile which he didn’t know how to use. The Doctor appeared on the giant screen followed by a huge cheer by the crowd. Soon after vorgenson basically explained to the Doctor who he is and what he invented. The Doctor didn’t like this so he travels in his TARDIS to get to Vorgenson but is in for a unexpected surprise, he’s inside his minimiser. The Interval lasted a good 15 minutes as everyone stacked up on refreshments and merchandise including the Official Programme for £10 which is a good buy. And did I mention? I spotted Steven Moffat in the crowd but only briefly. Well after that experience the Second Half of the show got started. The crowd booed Vorgenson when he entered the stage after capturing The Doctor. He called for the doctor but no response. This gave him time to show more of his Monsters! Vampires, Smilers, Clockwork droids and Judoon scurried their way through the paths to the crowd. Then a very scary Weeping Angel Scene happened on Stage which was terrifying in every way. And then for one of the biggest parts the Cybermen came down the stairs behind me and gave me a fright. The Doctor wasn’t taking any more of this and came out from the white light. The Grand finale was about to take place as a fault happens and the Daleks appear! They were behind the minimiser plan to get the Doctor and they did. But guess who were waiting to fight them? The Cybermen! It ended up them all trapped in the Minimiser and the rest sent back home by the Doctor. But the best illusion was next as a flying Dalek was ubove the crowd. With a little help from the Crowd the Doctor Escaped the Daleks and waved goodbye from his Tardis which appeared on a 4 sided screen. THE End. All in all Doctor Who Live was a unique blend of Music, illusions and Monsters with an outstanding Story by Steven Moffat which could only be used on Stage. I think it would work for all ages and now I know what it’s like I recommend you go out and buy your tickets before it’s too late! Geronimo!

It's that time of year again. Sarah Jane and the gang are back tonight with the first Episode of the fourth series, The Nightmare Man.

Luke faces life-changing events, and Bannerman Road will never be the same again. But when Sarah Jane's son has his first nightmare, he's haunted by a dark figure from his dreams. A strange entity is reaching out to our world, with terrible consequences for the whole human race.
The first part of The Episode airs at 5.15pm on the CBBC Channel with the Second Part airing tomorrow at the same time and channel. They will then be shown on CBBC on BBC One on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Live tour feature a never seen before story which is written by Steven Moffat and stars Matt Smith in specially shot scenes. The main Star of the show, apart from Matt, is Nigal Planner (who you can find out about in the character section) who plays the Showman Vorgenson who is on stage. He is the one that brings the aliens and enemies of The Doctor to the stage through his machine the 'minimiser'.

Characters

Vorgenson (Played by Nigal Planner) - Vorgenson has been descirbed as The Doctor's No.1 Fan But thats just the first thing. He is the greatest showman in the Galaxy who brings his amazing invention the 'minimiser' to the stage to bring back any Doctor Who character in dedication to the man himself. Vorenson has been developed by Steven Moffat specially for the Tour and is set to be a hit.

Dalek - Of course you know the Dalek, There the Doctor's Greatest Enemy. With a new look that was first seen in 'Victory of the Daleks' they are definately the most talked about enemy for Doctor Who Live. The Hard casing on the outside of a dalek hides a small Deadly Mutant from the planet Skaro. The doctor Fought the Daleks in the Time War where both Planets perished. The Daleks are also set to be a huge Hit at Doctor Who Live.

Cybermen - Cybermen are also one of the Doctor's main Enemy's. They feature in most Live features for Doctor Who saying there most famous catchphrase 'Delete!'. The Cybermen our half Human half Machine with there emotions removed. The newere versions were created on a parallel Earth by John Lumic who wanted to see the earth full with Cybermen. But before they were made on a Parellel Earth they were made on the Planet Mondas. They have featured in many Doctor Who Stories since it began and are also set to be a hit at the Show.

Weeping Angel - Weeping Angels are One of the Scariest Monsters in Doctor Who History. First appearing in episode 'Blink' then in 'Time of Angels' and 'Flesh and Stone', Weeping Angels were voted the Scariest Doctor Who Monster above the Daleks and Cybermen. No body knows where the Weeping Angels come from but we do know that they can adapted. When you see them they turn to stone but everytime you turn your back or blink they can move. But in the series 5 episodes they adapted to Become a real Angel of an Image and even get inside the person's head if they are looking straight in their eyes. So for Doctor Who Live they would be one of the scariest on Stage.
